Little meets with Ngāpuhi to hear negotiation issues

Wellington’s Dominion Post on the 17 November 2017 Ministerial meeting with Tūhoronuku.

Treaty Negotiations Minister has met with the country’s largest iwi, Ngāpuhi, to hear the various views about who should have the mandate for negotiations with the Crown. Little went to Te Tai Tokerau at the weekend to meet with Tūhoronuku, which holds the mandate, and Te Kotahitanga, which is challenging that mandate. Little will hold more meetings in the north on December 9 and 10, when he will meet with wider members of the iwi who have concerns.
